Dr. Sarath Guttikunda
Founder, UrbanEmissions.Info

Dr. Sarath Guttikunda is a TED Fellow, founder of UrbanEmissions.Info (UEInfo, India), and an affiliate associate professor at Desert Research Institute (Reno, USA). His main research interest is analysis of urban emissions at local, regional, and global scales and finding ways to bridge the gap between science, policy, and public awareness. He is the developer of the SIM-air (Simple Interactive Models for Better Air Quality) family of tools, dedicated to sharing information on air pollution and climate change, with applications
in cities around the world.

In 2016, UEinfo was responsible for launching public portals DelhiAirQuality.Info and IndiaAirQuality.Info, disseminating high resolution forecasts of air quality and source contributions for the next 3 days, and other information related to air quality in India.
Dr. Guttikunda received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Iowa (2002), and holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (1997).

Anita Bhargava
Entrepreneur

Anita Bhargava headed the Data Warehousing group of PayPal from its inception till 2004. After returning to India more than a decade ago, she launched a movement called 'Let's Do It! Delhi' an initiative designed to clean up colonies across the city. Her efforts resulted in the mobilization of more than 50,000 Delhi residents who participated in 125 individual clean-ups. Anita’s work to achieve “Big Hairy Audacious Goals” (iicworld.org) with the International Innovation Corp (IIC), a program based at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, has helped local government source top talent and generate innovative, high-impact and actionable ideas to solve developmental hurdles.

Dr. Pawan Gupta
Research Scientist, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center

Dr. Pawan Gupta is a research scientist at the Goddard Earth Sciences Technology and Research (GESTAR), Universities Space Research Association. His main research expertise is in the application of satellite remote sensing for air quality monitoring and assessment around the world, which he has focused on since his time as a graduate student. Dr. Gupta currently works with OMI and MODIS science team on development and validation of new aerosols products. He also develops and conducts technical workshops and capacity building activities for the NASA Applied Sciences Program, where he teaches the application of satellite imagery to environmental decision-making activities, with a focus on surface air quality. He has completed his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
